Welcome to Nurse Mate. By creating an account or using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. These Terms govern your use of the Nurse Mate dating community for nursing professionals, including discovery, matching, chat, license verification, and paid features.
You must be at least 21 years old and a current or former nursing professional to use Nurse Mate. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that any credentials you provide are your own.
License verification is optional. When you submit your nursing license number and state, we attempt to confirm it against publicly available state Board of Nursing records. A verified badge indicates that your license was confirmed at the time of verification only; it does not guarantee current, ongoing licensure or good standing. You are responsible for keeping your license active and accurate. We may revoke a verified badge if your license lapses or is disciplined.
Your license number and state are stored in a separate, access-restricted private record that is not visible to other users. Verification requires a one-time fee (see Section 8).
You are solely responsible for the photos and text you upload. By uploading photos, you confirm that you have the right to use them and that they depict you.
Automated photo analysis: Every photo you upload is automatically analyzed by an AI vision model before it is published to your profile. This scan screens for nudity, sexual content, violence, minors, and other prohibited imagery. Photos flagged as clearly inappropriate are rejected and never published; flagged edge cases are routed to an administrator for manual review. The scan runs on the image data only and does not identify individuals beyond the content check.
Profile text (bio, bio fields) is also scanned automatically for prohibited language such as solicitation, off-platform contact details, and banned terms. Flagged text may be hidden from discovery and reviewed by an administrator.
Nurse Mate offers community chat rooms and one-to-one messages. Chat rooms are a place to connect with other nursing professionals — they are not a venue for medical advice, patient care discussion, or clinical record-sharing.
PHI acknowledgment: Before entering any chat room, you must acknowledge a Protected Health Information (PHI) notice. You agree not to share patient-identifiable health information, real patient names, dates of service, or any data that could identify a patient. You are responsible for complying with HIPAA and your employer's privacy policies. Nurse Mate is not a covered entity and does not provide medical services.
Chat messages are stored to deliver the service and may be reviewed by administrators if reported or flagged. Do not put anything in a chat that you would not want reviewed.
You agree not to:
We use a combination of automated scanning (text and photo) and human review to keep the community safe. Profiles, photos, and messages may be scanned for prohibited content. When a violation is detected we may issue a warning, hide content, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban your account. Repeated or serious violations result in escalating suspensions. You may appeal a moderation decision through the in-app appeal process; appeals are reviewed by an administrator.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details; Stripe handles all payment information under its own terms. You may cancel a subscription at any time from Settings; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are issued at our discretion for unused service. Prices may change; any price change is communicated before it takes effect.
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, scan, and protect your information, including license data, photos, and chat content.
Nurse Mate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, that other users' information is accurate, or that license verification reflects current licensure. We are not a medical service, a covered entity, or a licensing authority. We are not liable for any interactions or outcomes resulting from use of the app.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nurse Mate and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any reliance on user-provided credentials or chat content.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we believe your activity is harmful to the community. Upon termination, your profile is removed from discovery; some records may be retained to prevent abuse or enforce bans as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Questions about these Terms can be directed to the Nurse Mate support team through the in-app reporting or feedback tools.
