This Privacy Policy explains how Nurse Mate collects, uses, scans, and protects your information. By using the app, you consent to the practices described here, including automated scanning of your photos and profile text, license verification against public records, and storage of chat content.
When you submit your license for verification, your license number and state are checked against publicly available state Board of Nursing records. This data is stored in a separate private record that only you and authorized administrators can read. It is never displayed to other users and is not sold. Verification confirms a match at a point in time and does not monitor your license status on an ongoing basis.
Photos: Every photo you upload is analyzed by an AI vision model to screen for nudity, sexual content, violence, minors, and other prohibited imagery. The model evaluates the image content only; it does not perform facial recognition or identify you across other services. Flagged photos are rejected or routed to administrator review before they appear on your profile.
Profile text: Your bio and text fields are scanned automatically for prohibited language (solicitation, off-platform contact details, banned terms). Flagged text may be hidden from discovery and reviewed by an administrator.
Flagged content (the photo or text, plus the scan decision) is retained for audit and appeal purposes and is visible only to administrators.
Chat room and one-to-one messages are stored to deliver the service. Before entering a chat room you must acknowledge a Protected Health Information (PHI) notice agreeing not to share patient-identifiable health data. We do not request PHI and are not a covered entity under HIPAA. Chat content may be reviewed by administrators if a message or user is reported, or if automated moderation flags a message. Administrators can remove messages and suspend users who violate community standards.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your private information (phone number, license number) with other users. We do not use your photos for facial recognition or cross-service identification.
Sensitive information such as your license number and phone number is stored in a separate, access-restricted record that only you and authorized administrators can read. Profile and message data is protected by row-level access controls so users can only read their own data and data shared with them. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
We keep your profile and message data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, matches, and messages within a reasonable period. Some records may be retained to prevent abuse, enforce bans, defend against fraud, or comply with legal obligations. Flagged content and moderation decisions are retained for audit and appeal purposes.
When content is flagged for review, we retain a copy of the flagged text or photo and the moderation decision for audit and appeal purposes. These records are visible only to administrators.
Nurse Mate is not directed to anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, please report it so we can remove the account.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app (including account deletion), or by contacting us through in-app support.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Questions about this Privacy Policy can be directed to the Nurse Mate support team through the in-app reporting or feedback tools.
